Based on Tom Bradby’s novel, written after two years as ITN political correspondent in Belfast, ‘Shadow Dancer’ is the moving study of a woman forced to choose between family and cause in 1990s Northern Ireland.
When Colette McVeigh (Andrea Riseborough) is snared by MI5 for involvement in terrorism, she is coerced into spying on her brother Gerry (Aiden Gillen), leader of the Belfast IRA, under threat of a lengthy jail sentence that would separate her from her six year old son.
