About this Film

A charismatic university professor tries to create a ghost through a series of dangerous and covert experiments in Hammer Films' British horror 'The Quiet Ones'.

As Professor Coupland rallies his best students to try and spawn a poltergeist, Brian McNeil (Sam Claflin) documents the nerve-jangling experiments from behind the lens of his camera. But when horrifying occurrences start to take place, they soon realise that their rogue experiments may have produced something much more evil than they could have imagined.

'The Quiet Ones' is directed by John Pogue (Ghost Ship).

Total Film - 3/5 Stars

All in the name of science…

What seems like a promising homegrown horror turns out to be just another shaky-cam shock-fest. Produced by Hammer, featuring a fine young cast and painted in stylish ’70s hues, it certainly looks the part, with grainy Super 8 stock putting a vintage sheen on a choke of clichés.

Lousy Film

Reviewer: ZBDate: 2014-04-22

The theme seemed interesting as was the retro 1970s theme. Overall very disappointing. Over laboured attempt to be scary was like a collage of the shaky camera horrors of the last several years. Ok if it were a college project.

It was a reasonable story, but the acting was poor. Lots of sudden loud noises for no reason. It was not at all scarey. It just all seems a bit of a waste of film. This movie really is as bad as the reviews.

Really good film, lots of quiet bits with loud scarey parts that make you watch it on the edge of your seat! Get ready to be scared!

Worst film I have seen in a long time. Bad acting and poor film quality.
