1.1. These Terms apply to any competitions or prize draws (“prize draw”) that we run on our social media channels (including Facebook and Twitter), unless the prize draw has its own set of promotional terms.
1.2. The instructions provided in the launch message and/or at the point of entry form part of these Terms and in the event of a conflict, these Terms take precedence.
1.3. When entering a prize draw through Facebook, Twitter or another social media provider, please note that the prize draw is in no way sponsored or endorsed by that social media provider.
2.1. In these Terms, the promoter for the prize draw is ODEON. If you are in the UK, “ODEON” means Odeon Cinemas Limited, a company registered in England with company number 1854132. If you are in the Republic of Ireland, “ODEON” means United Cinemas International (Ireland) Limited, a company registered in Ireland with company number 441782. You can find our registered office and VAT number on the main Legal page on the website.

By entering the prize draw, you will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Terms.
4.1. You must be 16 years or older unless otherwise specified, and resident in the UK or Republic of Ireland (as applicable) to enter.
4.2. You can’t enter the prize draw if you or a member of your family is an employee of ODEON, or any other company connected with the prize draw.
4.3. You must prove that you have met the entry criteria if we ask you to. Failure to meet the entry criteria will result in an entry being invalid and/or forfeiture of any prize.
5.1. An entry has to comply with what is asked for by ODEON in the message launching the prize draw. For example you might have to answer a simple question or simply reply to ODEON with a keyword. The exact instructions for an entry will be explained in the launch message.
5.2. You must follow the ODEON channel on the social media platform to be able to enter.
5.3. The prize(s) and number of winners will be described in the launch message.
5.4. The dates of each prize draw including the closing date will be set out in the launch message. Entries received after the closing date will not be entered into the prize draw.
5.5. You need access to the internet in order to enter the prize draw.
5.6. If you live in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland you can enter the prize draw without making a purchase by sending your name, email address, and telephone number to ODEON Social Media, Odeon Cinemas Limited, 8th Floor, 1 Stephen Street, London W1T 1AT. Please mark the envelope with the name of the prize draw. Upon receipt and verification of the details supplied, an entry to the prize draw will be made on your behalf. Only one entry application per stamped, correctly mailed envelope.
5.7. Only one entry per person is allowed. Only one entry per social media username will be entered in the prize draw, unless specified otherwise. Syndicated entries or those made through agents, third parties, organised groups or using methods such as a computer macro, script or via other automated or mechanical means, processes or devices is prohibited and all such entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.
6.1. The entries will be judged in one of two ways:
6.1.1. Competition entries will be judged by one or more independent judges, and entries will be judged based on the criteria set out in the launch message.
6.1.2. Prize draw winners will be chosen at random by a computer program or under the supervision of an independent person.
6.2. We will notify the winner(s) by email, telephone or direct message (using the details given when they entered) within a reasonable time of the closing date. If we don’t get any response from a winner or receive confirmation of a delivery address within 28 days of the notification that they have won, or if any prize is unclaimed or declined within a reasonable period, we can choose to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant chosen from the remaining valid entries and thereafter until a winner on these terms is found. If the prize is time critical ODEON will state upfront before entry how many days the winner will have to accept the prize.
6.3. We will send the prize to the winner within a reasonable time of the winner claiming their prize. We are not responsible for any prize which is lost or which is delayed or damaged in transit.
6.4. The winner may be required to accept third party terms such as ticket terms, and acceptance of the prize will be subject to any prize provider's terms.
6.5. You must enter the prize draw for your own personal purposes only. The prize is non-transferable.
6.6. There is no cash alternative for any prize.
6.7. The prize is non-negotiable. The winner does not have to take up the prize if they don’t want to.
6.8. To the extent permitted by law, ODEON will have no liability for any claims, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with participation in the prize draw or the allocation or use of a prize.
6.9. Incomplete or illegible entries or entries not in accordance with these terms and conditions will be rejected. We are not responsible for any wrongly completed, lost, damaged or delayed entries, or for any technical failures which stop you entering the prize draw.
6.10. We may disqualify, without notice, any entrant and/or winner we reasonably believe has failed to meet the qualifying criteria, has acted fraudulently, tampered or attempted to tamper with the operation of the prize draw or is in breach of these Terms.
6.11. The winner(s) may be required to participate in publicity activities connected with the prize draw including being photographed and/or filmed (without compensation). By entering the prize draw you agree and provide consent to take part in such publicity.
6.12. Unless otherwise expressly stated, where the prize requires attendance at a specific location, the winner and any permitted companions will be solely responsible for travel to and from the venue. All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the winner(s).
6.13. You can find out the name and county of the winner(s) by sending a stamped addressed envelope marked with the name of the prize draw to ODEON Social Media, Odeon Cinemas Limited, 8th Floor, 1 Stephen Street, London W1T 1AT.
6.14. ODEON’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7.2. If you are a winner we may (i) pass on your personal data to our third party suppliers in order to provide the prize, (ii) disclose your surname, county and, if applicable, your winning entry to anyone who requests such information in accordance with these Terms. If you wish to object to your information being disclosed in this way or you wish to reduce the amount of information being disclosed then please let us know on or after we contact you to let you know you have won, and (iii) provide your surname and county and, if applicable, your winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority.
8.1. If we can’t award the prize due to reasons beyond our control, we may provide a substitute prize of similar or greater value.
8.2. We may suspend, cancel or amend the prize draw at any time where it becomes reasonably necessary to do so.
8.3. For reasons outside ODEON's control, the date or location of any events based prize may be changed on short notice or the event cancelled. ODEON will not be liable for any such changes or cancellation and no alternative prize will be provided.
9.1. If you live in the UK, these Terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in the English courts. If you live in a part of the UK which is not England, you can choose whether to bring legal proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, or the English courts.
9.2. If you live in the Republic of Ireland, these Terms are governed by Irish law, and any disputes will be dealt with by the Irish courts.
9.3. Alternative dispute resolution is a process where an independent body considers the facts of a dispute and seeks to resolve it, without you having to go to court. If you are not happy with how we have handled any complaint, you may want to use alternative dispute resolution. The European Commission has established a website for online dispute resolution which is available at www.ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/, and which is designed to assist consumers in resolving disputes online without having to go to court.
